VACUUM BREAKER FOR FOOD PROCESSING

A vacuum breaker for food processing equipment consisting of a tubular body having an interior defining a fluid flow passage. The fluid flow passage has a first portion with a first axis and a second portion with a second axis. A ball is disposed on a seat within the first portion of the fluid flow passage. A push rod housing is secured to the tubular body in communication with the fluid flow passage. The push rod housing is substantially in axial alignment with the first axis of the first portion of the fluid flow passage. A push rod is disposed in the push rod housing and movable between an extended and retracted position. An air cylinder is provided for moving the push rod from a retracted position to an extended position. The push rod lifts the ball from the seat, thereby permitting the passage of fluids through fluid flow passage whereby the interior of the tubular body is cleaned in place.
