PURPOSE: To provide a die button which is capable of mounting a self-riveting fastener to a relatively thin panel. CONSTITUTION: A die body part has a central projecting die part (184), a die cavity (186) which encloses the same and a shoulder part (182) which is disposed around the die cavity higher than the central projecting die part and supports the panel. The die cavity (186) is formed of a truncated cone shaped slope (188) which is smoothly continuous with the shoulder part and is deformed by receiving the part near the aperture of the panel and annular die surfaces (200 and 202) which are continuous at one end with the truncated cone shaped slope via an annular marginal part (204) and at the other end with the edge of the central projecting die part 184, have base surfaces (202) of a semitroidal shape in the bottom and deform the free end of the cylindrical part of the self-riveting fastener to a U shape at its cross section. |
