FIELD: railway transport; automatic control of DC drives. SUBSTANCE: device has master controller 1, DC traction generator 2 with control unit 3, reverser and switchgroups 5,6,7 of diesel locomotive traction motors 4 installed, respectively, in traction circuit, rheostatic braking circuit furnished with brake resistor 8, and in field winding circuit 9 of traction motor 4. Switchgroups are built around semiconductor devices one of which is thyristor and two others are diodes. Circuit precludes dynamic loads and shocks in switchgroups by change in polarity of supply voltage of traction generator 2.
