PURPOSE: To obtain a stable removing force in spite of repetitive attaching and detaching by forming the peak surfaces of the respective projecting parts on a plane perpendicular to the axis of an inner peripheral surface to a circular arc shape centering around the axis and maintaining the width thereof within a specific angle range. CONSTITUTION: This split sleeve is formed by providing a cylindrical body with a slit 1 in its longitudinal direction and providing the inner peripheral surface 5 with >=3 pieces of the projecting parts 2 so as to extend in parallel with each other apart spaced intervals in the longitudinal direction. The split sleeve is so formed that the top surface 7 of the projecting parts 2 on the plane perpendicular to the axis 8 of the inner peripheral surface 5 have the arc shape centering around the axis 8 and that the width thereof is within the range of the angle of 5 to 20 deg. with the axis 8. As to the height of the projecting parts 2, there is the trouble that a ferrule comes into contact with the parts exclusive of the projecting parts 2 if the height is too small. A difficulty in assembling the split sleeve into an adapter housing is resulted if the height is too large. The height is, therefore, preferably in a range from 15μm up to 1mm and is more preferably about 50μm, i.e., in a range of 30 to 70μm.
