PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize the total area of magnetic poles faced to tooth sections for generating thrust by supporting a magnetic unit in such a way that the unit can be moved in one direction relatively to first and second exciting units. SOLUTION: An exciting unit 20a is provided with, for example, a +A-phase magnetic pole 25+a which is faced to one side face of a magnetic unit 21 along the moving direction as a first magnetic pole with a prescribed gap G in between and a -A-phase magnetic pole 25-a which is faced to the opposite side face of the unit 21 along the moving direction of the unit 21 with a prescribed gap G in between and deviated in position from the magnetic pole 25+a by P/2 in the moving direction as a second magnetic pole. Each of the magnetic poles 25+a and 25-a has two tooth sections which are shifted from each other by 1P. Each tooth section of each magnetic pole 25+a and 25-a is formed so that the thickness of each tooth section in the moving direction of the magnetic pole unit 21 may become nearly equal to the thickness of each permanent magnet 22 of the unit 21 in the moving direction. |
