PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the stator of a magneto-striction type torque sensor without having very troublesome work for assembling the torque sensor, and to prevent a load from being applied to the outgoing lines of the stator, even if the stator is fixed in a relatively rotatable way to a shaft to be detected through the medium of a bearing. SOLUTION: A magneto-striction type torque sensor contains a cylindrical magnetostrictive material 8 fitted onto a shaft 2 supported inside a housing 3 rotatably through the medium of bearings 9, and a yoke 10 having a self-contained coil for detecting the change of magnetic flux passing through the magnetostrictive material 8 and supported in a relatively rotatable way as against the shaft 2 through the medium of the bearings 9. The rotation of the yoke 10 as against the housing 3 is regulated by a connector 13 wherein a male connector 14 press-fitted to a window hole 10a formed in the yoke 10, and a female connector 15 inserted from the window hole 3a formed in the housing 3 are fitted with a pin 14b. The outgoing lines from the yoke 10 are soldered on the rear of the board 14a of the male connector 14.
