<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a method and apparatus for positioning a working boat which made possible the measuring of the position of a working boat for conducting a sounding survey at the sea, rivers, dams in mountains and the like. CONSTITUTION: In this method and apparatus for positioning a working boat or the like, the position of a working boat is specified by a GPS position measurement. When measurement is disabled by radio wave interference or the like, a self-sustained navigation is switched ON to specify the position. When the measurement by the GPS position is returned normal, the position of the working boat is specified by the GPS position measurement again. In the above self-sustained navigation, the position of the working boat obtained by the GPS position measurement in the switching over to the self-sustained navigation is used as origin and the direction is determined utilizing the GPS measurement data in the past.</p> |
