PURPOSE: To determine the present position of a vehicle located at the position where direct transmission and reception can not be performed and to determine the present position of each vehicle more exactly by updating the stored present position data of the other vehicle by the present position data of the other vehicle obtained by a communication. CONSTITUTION: An operation part 32 is provided with the switch for inputting the recognition number of each vehicle and the recognition number of the present vehicle to be transmission and reception objects. A communication means 19 transmits and receives the location data of the present vehicle stored in a part of a DRAM 12 and the position data of the other vehicle. The position data of the present vehicle stored in this DRAM 12 is updated by the present position data of the present vehicle that a CPU 10 calculates. The position data of the other vehicle stored in the DRAM 12 is updated by the present position data of the other vehicle received by the communication means 19. Therefore, the present position data of the vehicle which is capable of performing direct communication can be obtained if the transmission and reception between each of two vehicle are possible even when the runnings are performed by being away by three vehicles or more.
