PURPOSE: To provide a power source circuit for ion laser which can start discharge in an excellent state, prolong the service life of the laser tube of an ion laser, and reduce the power consumption of the laser tube while maintaining discharge and, at the same time, to suppress the increase of the volume and weight of the circuit. CONSTITUTION: A power source circuit for ion laser is provided with a first discharge current setting and control circuit 2 which sets and controls the discharge current of a laser tube 100 to a set discharge starting current value for starting sure and excellent discharge at the time of starting discharge, second discharge current setting and control circuit 3 which sets and controls the discharge current to a value lower than the set discharge starting current value, and switching control circuit 4 which switches the control of the discharge current from the circuit 2 which controls the discharge current during a prescribed period of time after starting discharge to the circuit 3 after the prescribed period of time has elapsed. |
