COMPRESSED MOVING IMAGE REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide a compressed moving image reproducing device in which an optional pattern is displayed in the reproduction of the compressed moving image. CONSTITUTION: A conventional compression moving image reproducing device is provided with an I picture storage address storage section 3 storing storage addresses for a self-completion in-frame coding image (hereinafter I picture) and a display pattern count storage section 4 storing the display order to store information required to decode and display the pattern. When an external input section 7 receives a tentative stop instruction, a display pattern changeover switch 8 is used to fix the display and after the stop is released, the I picture is read based on the stored information and the pattern is decoded till the stopped patter and the pattern stored in the display pattern count storage section 4 (stopped pattern) is displayed, then the display pattern changeover switch 8 is selected to attain the display from an optional pattern having been stored.
