PURPOSE: To provide a method to form a microlens array sheet in which a black matrix and microlens are accurately positioned by a very simple method, and to provide a black matrix substrate to be used for this method. CONSTITUTION: The black matrix substrate consists of a transparent substrate 1 and a light-shielding layer 2 which absorbs or/and reflects rays. In this substrate, the light shielding layer 2 is formed to have <=2.0 optical density per 1μm thickness and 0 to 0.5 of A/B, wherein A is the width A of the top part and B is the width of the bottom part of the light-shielding layer 2. A microlens array sheet is produced by depositing or applying a resin compsn. which can be hardened with hardening energy beam to the black matrix substrate where the light-shielding layer is formed, then irradiating the substrate with hardening energy beam to harden a desired part, and then dissolving and removing the area not hardened. |
