<p>A robot controller (1) has a display panel (1b) and a main body (1a) comprising an NC controller (1d), an electric power board (1e), an optical emitter (1f) and a receiver (1g). The robot has a hand, arms and drive mechanisms. The robot and the controller are connected by cables (19) for electric power transmission and by optical fibre cables for signal transmission. Instructions from the NC controller are converted into optical pulse signal (20) and transmitted along the fibre cable to the robot hand, where the signals are again converted into electronic signals, whilst signals from sensors attached to the robot hand are converted into optical signal and seed back to the controller.</p> |
