PURPOSE: To provide the CRC check circuit applying CRC arithmetic operation to a message of a same channel received discontinuously in the CRC check circuit adopting the ATM system. CONSTITUTION: The circuit is provided with a CRC arithmetic circuit, an address generating section designating an address of a random access memory corresponding to a channel number of a received cell, and the random access memory storing the result of CRC arithmetic operation applied to data of the received cell for each channel number. Then prior to the CRC arithmetic operation with respect to data of the received cell, the CRC arithmetic operation result stored in an address corresponding to the channel number of the received cell in the random access memory is read. The read CRC arithmetic operation result is used for a default and the CRC arithmetic operation circuit applies CRC arithmetic operation to data of the received cell and the result of CRC arithmetic operation is stored to a corresponding address of the random access memory.
