Within the oil-filled equipment (feedthrough, capacitor, switch or other component) (1), the active part (2) with its external connection (3) is surmounted by a screening head (5) and encased in e.g. a porcelain insulator housing (7). The oil level is monitored (9) by a tube or hose (11) pref. helically wound around the axis between an upper fixture (13) and a bellows (15) near the base. The top of the tube is open at a level (S3) between upper and lower limits (S1,S2). If the oil level departs from within these, the pressure difference triggers an alarm or control signal via an electrical double contact (19).
