The transmitter (3) carried by each crew member has a lamp (9) which flashes to SOS signal when its sensor (5) makes contact with water, while a radio alarm signal is sent to the onboard receiver (1). Pushbuttons (7, 8) command raising or lowering of the anchor, and switch the lamp to its continuous mode while e.g. sails are reefed by remote control. The receiver has a two-wire connection to the automatic pilot for determining the setting of the rudder when the alarm signal is received. The portable transmitter can be fitted to the receiver for recharge of its battery via contact pins (11).
