<p>The separator consists of a feed hopper for the mixt., leading to a perforated sleeve (12) contg. an auger (14) coupled to a drive (16). One end of the sleeve has an outlet (20) for the compressed wax, while a collector (22) beneath it receives the honey forced out through the perforations. The auger has ≥ 1 compression zone (C) with condensed spirals, situated after the screw feed zone, and the sleeve has perforations which reduce in density towards its outlet end; it also incorporates a mechanism (44) which prevents material from being fed back along the auger. The collector (22) consists of a container (62) covered by a grid, situated beneath the whole length of the sleeve, and the outlet (20) for the wax consists of an aperture in a plate (56) fixed to the separator frame (10) and sleeve, and a disc (60) which is adjustable relative to the plate and cover the aperture.</p> |
