PURPOSE: To reduce the weight of a casting mold by providing the outside wall parts of runners in proximity to the gate parts of a product wax pattern with projections and allowing these projections to grown to the outside wall part of the product casting mold to reinforce the gate part at the time of coating. CONSTITUTION: The casting mold 1 is formed by forming the wax pattern of the same shape as the shape of the product having gates 4 to mount with runners 2 and assembling the pattern to the final wax pattern. Such wax pattern is immersed into a slurry formed by mixing ceramics and org. binder and thereafter, ceramic powder is sprinkled thereon and the wax pattern is subjected to dewaxing firing, by which the casting mold is produced. In such a case, the outside wall parts 3 of the runners proximate to the gate parts 4 of the product wax pattern 6 are provided with the projections 5. The projections 5 grow to the outside wall parts 8 of the product casting mold and reinforce only the gate parts 4 when the projections are subjected to coating and, therefore, the high-strength and lightweight casting mold is obtd. Increasing of revolutions in centrifugal casting is possible and the dealing with the products having intricate shapes is possible as well. |
