[Problem] To provide an inkjet printer and a printing method by which a new pattern to be printed can be printed in an appropriate position with respect to an existing pattern. [Solution] An inkjet printer (1) is designed to newly print a new pattern to be printed, which is different from an existing pattern, on an outer surface (WS) of a spherical object for printing (W) having the existing pattern printed thereon. The inkjet printer (1) is provided with a holding part which holds the object for printing (W), a carriage (103), and a projection means (40). The carriage (103) prints the new pattern to be printed on the outer surface (WS) of the object for printing (W). The projection means (40) projects at least part of the existing pattern and the new pattern to be printed together on the outer surface (WS) of the object for printing (W) held by the holding part. |
