PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a compression pressure to a foot of a patient by a method wherein an expandable bag is provided having first and second fluid bladders and the second fluid bladder is bonded on the front parts of the ankle and the sole of the foot and the surface of an upper thereof to be filled with a fluid at a lower speed than the first fluid bladder. SOLUTION: A boot of a medical pumping apparatus is provided with an expansible bag 30 and when the bag 30 is expanded, a compression pressure is applied to a foot of a patient to stimulate a venous blood stream. Panels 32 and 34 composing the expansible bag 30 is sealed by heat to form first and second fluid bladders 36 and 38. The first fluid bladder 36 is extended between the head of metatarsal bone and the heel 64 to contact the foot of a patient almost at the position of the plantar arch 62 and the second fluid bladder 38 contacts the foot almost at the part of the upper 66, at the heel 64 and at the front part of the sole of the foot under toes. A restriction orifice 53 is given a dimension to ensure that the fluid pressure of the first fluid bladder 36 is higher than that of the second fluid bladder 38 during the whole of an expansion cycle in substance. |
