COLOR THERMAL PRINTING METHOD

PURPOSE: To eliminate the generation of density irregularity caused by the fluctuations of feed load accompanied by the heat generated in a thermal head. CONSTITUTION: Respective quantity-of-heat detection units 36-38 calculate the heat energy of a heating element array generated when a line is recorded from the image data of a line before recording. A pulse data generation part 41 calculates the feed load from the magnitude of the heat energy and takes out pulse data showing the number of the motor drive pulses and pulse rate corresponding to the feed load from a memory. At the time of line recording, the rotational speed of a pulse motor is corrected on the basis of pulse data determined beforehand. In a linear feed type using three platen rollers, feed loads are calculated at every thermal heads and the rotational speeds of the pulse motors driving the respective platen rollers are corrected so that the feed speeds on the respective platen rollers become same.
