A method for interrupting a voice and/or data transmission call made on an analogue link between two terminals (Tai) via a switching centre (C), wherein a user alert signal (SAU) and a terminal alert signal (SAT) are transmitted via the switching centre to one of the terminals. Between these signals, the call is restored (TC1) between the terminals. To detect the terminal alert signal (SAT), the terminal searches, over a predetermined time, for a pattern transmitted by the switching centre (C) which includes a sequence of a first quiet signal having less than a predetermined power during a first predetermined quiet time, the terminal alert signal (SAT), and a second quiet signal analogous to the first, during a second predetermined quiet time.
