PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in the conventional headlamp that one of luminous intensity distribution shapes is not sufficient, when another of luminous intensity distribution shapes is sufficient and that an outside appearance is stereotyped and staging of good appearance is difficult in a headlamp switching a traveling light distribution and a passing-by light distribution with one light source. SOLUTION: A pair of ellipse-type second reflectors 4 having a first focus at a light source 2, having a long axis Y crossing in a left and right direction at right angles with an irradiation axis X are provided above a first reflector 3 having a upper part and a lower part cut off. A first mirror 8, having an asymmetrical tip shape, is provided adjacent to a second focus of a second reflector 4 to optimize a passing-by light distribution. A traveling light distribution is provided by moving the first mirror 8. Satisfactory performances in both light distribution are provided. Moreover a novel design of being thin in the vertical direction can also be provided by the cut-off first reflector 3. |
