For the longitudinal adjustment of the seat, its seat component is supported on the vehicle floor by means of a guide rail arrangement, one rail of each guide rail arrangement comprising a toothed bar into which a pinion which is mounted on the other rail and can be driven by a drive wheel of a gear motor engages. If the motor fails, a manual longitudinal position adjustment of the seat is not possible. A device shall now be provided in a longitudinal position adjustment apparatus of a seat, with which the seat can be manually adjusted even when the drive motor is blocked. …The drive wheel of the gear motor has a continuous entrainer bore which engages over an entrainer pin of the pinion shaft, a transmission bushing being arranged between the entrainer bore of the drive wheel and the entrainer pin of the pinion shaft so as to be axially displaceable in and out of torque-transmitting engagement. …When required, this arrangement permits the motor drive to be decoupled so that the longitudinal position of the vehicle seat is manually adjustable. ……
