PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machining device capable of carrying out stable machining, by suppressing the damage of an electrode and lowering of profile irregularity. SOLUTION: In a wire electric discharge machine to machine an object to be machined 2 by generating discharge between an object to be machined 1 and a wire 2, a voltage impressing circuit 3 to impress a voltage pulse row comprising a voltage pulse to cause discharge between the object to be machined 1 and the wire 2, and a halt control part 6 to carry out halt control to halt the impression of the voltage pulse row by the voltage impressing circuit 3 for a duration of not less than 5 microseconds and not more than 1 mm seconds are provided.
