PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an operator such as the operator of high-voltage electric works performing operations near an arc source from arcs, protect the face, occipital part, and neck part of the operator who is conventionally defenseless from arc heat, and make flame-retardant clothes separable from insulating clothes. SOLUTION: These arc-responsive flame-retardant clothes are composed by interposing a fire-resisting layer on the right surface or back surface of in the middle of a flame-retardant layer formed of a cloth made of flame- retardant fibers such as aramid so that the flame-retardant clothes can be worn on usual insulating clothes composing the flame-retardant clothes. Furthermore, the flame-retardant clothes and insulating clothes are simultaneously designed in a separable form and both, if necessary, are joined for use.
