PURPOSE: To realize the miniaturization of an energy absorbing body in a crewman constraining device which functions to constrain the posture of a vehicle crewman under fixed conditions on acceleration produced in a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A sensor box 12 (energy absorbing body) is fixed through an attaching plate 28 to the front end of a siderail 11 composing the frame of a vehicle. In the case where the magnitude of energy inputted into the vehicle is estimated on acceleration produced in the frame, and the inputting of the energy exceeding a fixed value can be judged, a mechanism for constraining the posture of a vehicle crewman is provided. The sensor box 12 is fixed at a position offset to the center axis of the sicderail 11, and the energy is absorbed in processes where the sensor box body 12a buckles or the attaching plate 28 bends. |
