PURPOSE: To obtain a herbicide for a paddy field capable of controlling important weeds by combining a new 3-pyrrolin-2-one derivative with bromobutide, dymron or 1-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-3-(2-chlorobenzyl) urea. CONSTITUTION: This herbicide for a paddy field is obtained by blending a new 3-pyrrolin-2-one derivative of formula I (X is H or F) with bromobutide, namely, 2-bromo-N-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-3,3-dimethylbutylamide or 1-(α,α- dimethylbenzyl)-3-(4-methylphenyl)urea or 1-(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)-3 (2-chlorobenzyl) urea, shows a synergistic action which can not be expected from single use of each component and is usable at any time. The compound of formula I is obtained by treating an amide derivative of formula II with a proper base and subjecting to intramolecular aldol condensation reaction. |
