PURPOSE: To enable a player to easily feel the inertia of a head by mounting this head via a bar-shaped spring part at the bottom end of a shaft. CONSTITUTION: A socket 15 having the round bar-shaped spring part 15A is deposited at the bottom end of the shaft 12 of this putter 11 and the head 14 is mounted via its neck 14A at this socket. The diameter of the round bar- shaped spring part 15A is preferably set usually at about <=5mm. The round bar-shaped spring part 15A is deflected backward by the inertia occurring in the weight of the putter 11 in the rear end position of a stroke when the ball B is hit by this putter 11. The deflected round bar-shaped spring part 15A is reset forward of the stroke by turn back of the stroke. The acceleration of this time is added to the stroke speed and the inertial of the head 14 is amplified so that the round bar-shaped spring part 15A tends to deflect from the restored position further to a solid line position at the time of hitting the ball B. Then, the player is able to feel the inertia of the head 14 from a grip.
