PURPOSE: To obtain a spiral packaging jig for an optical fiber which prevents the twist of the optical fiber and is small in occupying volume by providing the jig with a disk-shaped fiber winding sheet and a pair of holding plates holding the sheet across the sheet. CONSTITUTION: This spiral packaging jig has the disk-shaped fiber winding sheet 3 which is wound with the optical fiber in a diametral direction from its peripheral side face and a pair of the fiber holding plates 12 which face each other across the sheet held therebetween and holds the wound optical fiber. The optical fiber is housed in a curved guide groove 2c, is introduced toward the sheet 3 side, is introduced into the winding groove 3b formed along the curved part 2d of the guide groove 2c and is further wound in the radial direction from the peripheral side face of the sheet 3. The direction where the winding of the optical fiber progresses is made into one direction alone. The optical fiber is thus packaged without rapid bending. Then, the generation of the fresh stresses within the optical fiber at the time of the packaging stage does not arise. |
