PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device of which the reliability is improved, and its control method by controlling the number of writings to a nonvolatile memory to keep the control parameter of the device. CONSTITUTION: When an event of the counting of a print quantity is generated, the reading of a print quantity counter in a RAM is increased by 1 (S200), and whether the value of the counter is equal to '4' or not is checked (S201). Then, if the value of the counter is equal to '4', the counter of the RAM is initialized (0), and the reading of a print quantity counter in an EE-PROM is increased by 4 (S202). If the value of the counter is not equal to '4', the processing is finished as it is. |
