PURPOSE: To inspect with high precision without being affected by temperature changes in liquid. CONSTITUTION: One end, in the axis direction, of a to-be-inspected object 24 is soaked in the liquid stored in a liquid bath 16, while facing the end to a probe 18. From the probe 18, longitudinal ultrasonic wave is oscillated toward the end of the to-be-inspected object 24. An end part echo height reflected on the end of the to-be-inspected object 24 and a joint part echo height reflected an a joint part are inputted into a computer 26. The joint part echo height is divided by the end part one, and the division result is inputted into the computer 26. Then, the division result and the correlation data of joint part strength against the division results stored in the computer 26 in advance are compared with each other, so that, without affected by temperature changes in liquid or degradation of the probe 18 and a flaw detector 20, strength of the joint part is properly evaluated. |
