摘要 FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: cooling system is mounted inside the pressure-tight sector space between ribs of the braking block. The system is made up as heat elements composed of two semiconducting rods of p- and n- type conductivities connected in parallel and series. The working surface of the braking drum and end faces of the semiconducting rods that are brought out to be installed flush with the friction linings are a hot junction. The free junction is formed by two other end faces of the semiconducting rods that are in a contact with separated arc-like plates mounted on an electrically insulating layer. A radiator is positioned from the back side of the layer. The inner surface of the space and two semiconducting rods in the body of the friction linings and base of the braking block are electrically insulated.
