A method for recording or logging measurements that are substantially comparable to the acoustic impedance of formations crossed through by a borehole. The measurements are obtained from an acceleration sensor (11) placed in the drill string (2) between a rock breaking tool (7) and mechanical decoupling means (12) arranged between some elements of the drill string. A measurement indicating the acoustic impedance of the formations is obtained by processing the sensor signal using a function of the tool rotation speed and the depth.
