The position adjustment installation is for vehicle headlights (4,35) which are mounted on a horizontal axis (37) fixed to the chassis. The rear of the headlights is supported by a member (36) which bears a roller (38). The roller (38) is in contact with the bearing surface (39-39') of a cam (40). The cam (40) is mounted (41) on the vehicle chassis and it's rotation is controlled by a Bowden cable (33'). A spring (45) acts to return the headlight to a normal position. The Bowden cable is actuated by a mechanical sensor which detects changes in chassis height above a road.
