Chuck jaw feed, esp. drill chuck

The drill chuck consists of a feed body (1) and a chuck jaw holder (4) fixed to it, in which the jaws (5) are guided along angled chuck surfaces (7). They can also move radially relative to the carrier (8) on the spindle-side end of the jaws. There is a setting device, operable from outside, to tighten and release the feed. The setting device has a setting ring (9) which can turn on the feed body but not move axially. There are also setting bolts (10) in the feed body, radially against the carrier and movable parallel to the feed axis. The bolts are engaged by a transmission connection (12) with the carrier. The connection has helical teeth (13) engaged with an internal thread of the setting ring.
