Sound vibration transmission-reducing support for building parts

A support is claimed for reducing sound vibration transmission between parts of buildings, e.g. staircases, landings, connected by beams whose free ends (13) fit into the claimed supports. Each support includes an elastic, vibration-damping pad (18) on which the beam end (13) rests and also another part (16) forming a mould for the concrete beam end (13). The support shell (16) sidewalls are inclined at an acute angle to the bearing pad (18). When under load the pad (18) compresses from its original thickness (G) leaving a space for the beam end (13) and pad (18) to move and hence damp out vibration. In a vibration-reducing process using the arrangement, load is applied to the pad (18) by the related building parts, e.g. staircase, ceiling or landing, to create free space between the support shell (16) and beam end (13).
