A housing element of an electrical connector comprising a body (1) made of an insulating material and which has a row of parallel channels or ducts (2). Each channel, on one side, has an abutment (16) for holding an electrical contact portion (3) in place and, and the other side, a restraining device (20) assigned to corresp. securement devices of the contact portion (3) body (4). Projections (47) of a locking key (25) jut through the perforations (45) opening out into the channels or ducts (2) and have a length corresp. to the width of the channels (2).
