Medical rotary anode X=ray tube with low temperature emitter

The X-ray tube includes an anode and an electron emitter for generating electron beams. The beams hit the focal point on the surface of the anode which then emits X-rays bundle. The electron emitter is partially composed of an electron emitting material which has a smaller electron emission rate than tungsten (low- temperature emitter). A shutter at the anode potential is disposed between the emitter and the anode. The electron emitting material is preferably LaB6, Ir/Ce, Ir/La or Ir/Pt. The electron beam has a circular cross-section.
