FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: g- mercaptocarboxylic acids and derivatives thereof, more particularly esters and amides, are prepared form g- butyrolactones through corresponding thiolactones. Thiolactones are prepared by transformation of lactones with thiocarboxylates in polar solvents and through opening of the cycle by means of nucleophilic reagents such as alkali alcoholates, and are converted to g- mercaptocarboxylic acid derivatives. The latter represent intermediate products, e.g. for synthesizing leucotriene antagonists. EFFECT: improved properties of the title compounds. |
