The valve pusher buckets are located within a housing within the cylinder head (11) and are each operated by cams (12). In the centre of the housing, are located the valve guides (10), which locate the stems (9) of the valves and the valve springs (8). The pushers (1) are operated by the rotating cams to move the valves up and down as required by the engine cycle. The pushers are cylindrical in form and contain a chamber (3), which is located to receive the cross section part of the transfer disc (2). The chamber is contained within a shoulder, which is used to locate the transfer disc, by the retaining clip (5), which retains the transfer disc in its housing.
