Mfr. of piece of jewelry from tubular workpiece

The process is for mfr. of a piece of jewelry e.g. a ring, arm band, earring etc. It uses a tubular workpiece which may be cylindrical (1a), square section (1b) or hexagonal. This section may then be flattened. If a square or hexagonal section is used, two opposite corners of the section form the edges of the flattened section, and the remaining corners form slight projections (5a,5b) on opposite sides of the section. The width of the band may be controlled by selecting the length cut off from the tube.
