Sensor for transducing dielectrical material properties into electrical parameters

A sensor element consists of a capacitance shortened multiwave-lead resonator with either a coax (2) or a coil lead, according to whether resonance frequencies in the UHF or VHF ranges are to be used. It includes a two-plate stray field capacitor (3) which substantially reduces inaccuracies caused by stray fields when the unit is used within a complete measurement system. The sensor is compact, electrically protected and easily handled or integrated into a meter unit. It offers high quality, stability of resonance frequency and a substantially reduced risk of the influx of unwanted signals.
