PURPOSE: To prevent chipping of a blade in the electrophotographic apparatus and occurrence of toner scattering and an abnormal image due to this chipping by improving the form of the end part of the photosensitive layer in the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive layer 2 is formed so as not to situate at least one side end part 2a of the layer 2 on a plane 12 perpendicular to the central axis 11 of a conductive support 3. For example, the end part 2a of at least one side of the photosensitive layer is formed into the stepwise shape, and further, the height from the conductive support 3 of the layer 2, that is, the difference of the heights between the end part 2a and an image part, is regulated to <=50μm.
