<p>PURPOSE: To unnecessitate a wide operation space and to eliminate a mechanical drive part by outputting a screen input information to the main body of a computer based on the output signal of a position detecting element at the time when light emitted from a light emitting source is made incident thereon. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the light emitting source, two optical position detecting elements (PSD)31 and 32, an output means 33 and a moving means 51 for controlling the move of a cursor on a display device at the main body of the computer from the screen input information based on the output signals of the PSD31 and 32 corresponding to the incidental position of light from the light emitting source. When the light of the light emitting source is reflected by a fingertip or the like or directly arrives at the respective PSD31 and 32, the output power sources of the PSD31 and 32 corresponding to its incidental position are obtained, and the output means 33 performs arithmetic operation based on the respective output currents and outputs the screen input information to the main body of the computer. Further, on the main body side of the computer, the moving direction and moving speed of the cursor are decided based on the screen input information and the cursor on the screen is moved.</p> |
