SODIUM-SULFUR BATTERY AND MANUFACTURE OF ANODE VESSEL FOR THIS BATTERY

PURPOSE: To improve the characteristic of starting initial stage in a sodium- sulfur battery using an anode vessel having a high corrosion resisting coating layer on the inner circumferential surface of a base. CONSTITUTION: The oxygen content of the surface layer part in a covering layer 12 constituting an anode vessel 10a is regulated less than 2.0wt.%. Thus, the electric resistance in the starting initial stage of the anode vessel 10a is reduced to improve the electric energy efficiency in the starting initial stage.
