PURPOSE: To provide a vibration type angular velocity sensor which can be downsized and made compact while keeping a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: In a sensor for generating, when an angular velocity is added to a vibrator 1 connected to a base and vibrated in a fixed direction, the Coriolis force according to the angular velocity in the direction orthogonal to the vibrating direction, and detecting the distortion of the vibrator by the Coriolis force to measure the angular velocity, the base 20 is formed into a frame-shape for enclosing the vibrator 1. Consequently, the sensor can be downsized and made compact since the base has the frame-shape for enclosing the vibrator. |
