PURPOSE: To form a high-quality image superior in the fixability of a toner, rapid in fixation of an ink, high in density, and not causing bleeding and feathering by incorporating at least nonligneous fiber in a recording paper having a cationic substance on the surface. CONSTITUTION: The recording paper is made mainly of at least a fibrous material and coated or impregnated with a cationic substance on the surface and containbs at least the nonligneous fiber, kenaf fiber, preferably, in an amount of 30-95wt.%, and regenerated pulp from used paper in an amount of 0-50wt.%, and it is preferred for the paper to contain the cationic substance having an average molecular weight of >=2000 and the one having an average molecular weight of <=1000 and to have a recording surface with a mixture of a pigment and fibrous material present on the surface, thus permitting the obtained recording paper to have a texture like plain paper and to be adapted to both of the recording apparatus using an electrophotographic system and that using an ink jet recording system, and useful for general purposes and to be provided at low cost. |
