ATM EXCHANGE NETWORK MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE: To make a job efficient by selecting a most suitable permanent virtual circuit (PVC) in an ATM exchange network automatically and relieving the load on the maintenance personnel. CONSTITUTION: The management equipment is connected to an ATM exchange network consisting of plural ATM exchanges sending/receiving information in the asynchronous transfer mode and is provided with a network management data storage means 4 storing data representing the operating state of an ATM channel interconnecting the ATM exchanges and with a network management control means 3 referencing the network management data storage means 4 when a permanent virtual circuit is set between ATM exchanges and selecting an ATM channel having an idle band more than the operating band of the permanent virtual circuit to be set and setting the permanent virtual circuit to the ATM channel.
