A disk cartridge which is equipped with a cartridge main body formed by butting and combining an upper half and a lower half, and accommodating a disk for recording information signals. A disk support portion is disposed on mutally opposed inner surfaces of the cartridge main body in such a manner as to correspond to signal non-recording regions of an inner peripheral portion of the disk accommodated in the cartridge main body. Disk support members having a high wear resistance and a high slidability, formed as thin plates and spaced at predetermined intervals are dispersedly arranged in a ring form on the surface side of the disk supporting portion opposing the disk. The disk supporting portion is made of a sheet-like member of ultra-high polymer polyethylene or a sheet-like member of a polyfluoroethylene fiber. Because the disk supporting members are dispersedly arranged, the disks can be reliably and easily fitted to the disk supporting portions.
