The invention concerns a security system designed to open and close entertainment machines (1), such as coin-operated gaming machines, juke boxes, darts machines and pinball machines, which are operated off a power supply (17). The system has a sensor (9) activated by an electronic remote-control unit (10) which, on depression of a button, transmits an encoded or encodable pulse, an electromagnet (11) connected to and activated by the sensor (9) and powered by the power supply, and a door-locking device (12) actuated by the electromagnet (11). An additional safety lock (16), connected to the locking device (12), can be fitted. This system is intended primarily to prevent unauthorized tampering with the entertainment machine (1).
